Harrowing Hall II

Detroit, MI 2024

Harrowing Hall II_edited.jpg

Natalie Tindall was a featured artist in the Harrowing Hall II show in Detroit, MI, where she had the honor of showcasing her piece 'Birth-a'. This work captures the paradox of life and rebirth through bold colors that symbolize the vibrancy of something newly born from death. The title 'Birth-a' emphasizes the concept of the birth of something deceased, turning a typically somber subject into a vivid, energetic expression of transformation.

Being part of this distinguished exhibition allowed Natalie to connect with incredible artists and gain new perspectives, stepping beyond her Pennsylvania residency to share her vision on a larger stage. The response to 'Birth-a' was overwhelmingly positive, with insightful feedback from both attendees and fellow artists. It was truly a rewarding experience that helped shape her  ongoing journey as an artist.

King of Zombieland

Notable piece created for Skrilla - Rapper from Kensington, Philadelphia

Natalie had the privilege of designing and creating a custom piece for Skrilla, a  rapper from Kensington, Philadelphia, whose music features collaborations with artists like G-Herbo, Meek Mill, and Baby Smoove. To stay true to his brand, she immersed herself in his music, social media, and the culture of Kensington, well known for its 'zombies.' She incorporated 3D elements, such as an overpour of lean and pills sculpted out of clay, to represent the darker side of his world, creating a visual representation of something often seen in the underworld. Skrilla was thrilled with the result and initiated conversation to discuss future album cover designs. Despite a tight deadline and challenges with the weight distribution of the clay, the piece came together beautifully and authentically reflects his image.

Gallery 4% Juried Art Contest

Laurel Award - "Living & Breathing 3"

Laurel Award.jpg

Natalie was ecstatic to receive the Laurel Award at the Gallery 4% Juried Art Contest for her piece 'Peek-a-boo Steven', a take of a black and white painting of a monkey. The moment she received the notification, while on vacation no less, was an unforgettable highlight —being recognized by a panel of jurors is every artist's dream. The piece was submitted as part of the Living and Breathing 3 exhibition, a theme that resonated deeply with me, as she sought to explore the connection between life, consciousness, and the playful identity through the expressive features of the monkey. The simplicity of black and white allowed her to focus on the raw emotion captured in the subject’s gaze, evoking the living, breathing essence of life itself. It was truly an honor to have 'Peek-a-boo Steven' selected and awarded in such a contest.

Black and White Exhibition

Blue Door Art Center Yonkers, NY

Natalie was thrilled to have 'Peek-a-boo Steven', my black-and-white painting, featured in the Black and White Exhibit at the Blue Door Art Center in Yonkers, NY. This was her very first venture as an artist, and to be showcased in New York—where creativity and artistry thrive—was a dream come true. The playful expression of the piece, with its highly expressive eyes, resonated with both adults and children, drawing positive feedback from visitors. The experience of submitting her work, seeing it displayed, and receiving such warm responses gave me the confidence to fully embrace her passion for art. It was an emotional journey that she would gladly repeat a thousand times, and to have her work displayed alongside so many talented artists was truly an honor.
